SWINE FLU AND HOLY COMMUNION
Advice received from the Archbishops & an the Bishop of Derby is that in view of the threat of the spread of Swine Flu, the sharing of the Cup at Holy Communion should be suspended. Holy Communion will be administered either in one Kind or  by “intinction” (the priest dips the Bread in the wine). Anti-bacterial gel will be used by the priest before handling the Elements.

Fair cop?

While taking a routine vandalism report at an infants school, I was interrupted by a little girl about six years old. Looking up and down at my uniform, she asked, “Are you a cop?”
“Yes,”  I answered and continued writing the report.
“My mum said if I ever needed help,  I should ask the police. Is that right?”  she ventured.
“Yes, that's right,” I told her, and added expansively:  “We are always here for you.”
The little girl smiled, and looked reassured.  “Well, then,” she said, as she extended her foot toward me, “would you please tie my shoe?”
